Dallas Police Investigate Homicide on Polk Street

DALLAS, TX – Dallas Police are actively investigating a homicide that occurred in the 100 block of Polk Street. The incident, which initially began as an assault, tragically culminated in the death of 60-year-old Ira Lollis.

On December 9, 2023, around 3:15 a.m., Dallas Police were dispatched to the scene following a call for service. Upon arrival, they discovered Lollis who had been severely assaulted by unidentified individuals. Dallas Fire-Rescue quickly responded, rushing Lollis to a local hospital in critical condition.

Despite medical efforts, on December 27, 2023, Lollis succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The death has since been classified as a homicide, intensifying the investigation efforts.
