Louisiana State Police Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting in Sulphur
SULPHUR, LA – A recent incident in Sulphur has prompted an investigation by the Louisiana State Police. On the night of November 19, 2023, shortly after 11:00 p.m., the Sulphur Police Department (SPD) responded to a report of a discharged weapon near a business on Ruth Street (LA Hwy 1256).
The caller reported a silver vehicle fleeing the scene, heading east on Henning Drive. SPD officers located a vehicle matching the description at a residence in the 600 block of Henning Drive. Upon encountering individuals around the vehicle, an interaction occurred between the officers and the subjects, resulting in an SPD officer shooting one of the subjects.
The individual who was shot was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. No officers were reported injured in the incident.
