Precinct 5 Deputies Arrest Two in Connection with Attempted Tire Theft at Cypress Auto Body Shop
Deputies from Precinct 5 have apprehended a man and a woman following their involvement in an attempted tire theft at a Cypress auto body shop last month. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Nov. 8, when deputies were alerted to suspicious activity in the 8000 block of Fry Rd. A witness reported seeing two individuals cutting a fence next to a collision repair shop.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered the cut fence and a truck with a tire jack still attached, suggesting an interrupted theft attempt. The suspects had fled the scene just before the deputies’ arrival.
After an extensive investigation, authorities identified the suspects involved in the attempted theft, including two women who acted as lookouts. Ruben Jessie Velasquez, 25, has been arrested on felony charges including theft, criminal mischief, and engaging in organized criminal activity. Priscilla Angelica Zamora, 48, faces charges for filing a false police report. Further charges related to the other two suspects are pending. The swift action by Precinct 5 deputies underscores their commitment to addressing criminal activities and ensuring community safety.
