Suspect Charged in Early Morning Stabbing at 9530 Jensen Drive
OCTOBER 20, 2023 – A 59-year-old man has been charged in connection with a stabbing that occurred around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, at 9530 Jensen Drive.
The suspect, Ronald Wayne James, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, filed in the 351st State District Court. A booking photo of James has been released in conjunction with this news announcement.
The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.
Houston Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 2800 block of Turner Street. Upon arrival, they detained James without incident and located the victim, who had suffered a stab wound to the abdomen. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.
Further investigation and evidence collection led to the identification of James as the assailant. The incident was found to have occurred in the parking lot of a convenience store at 9530 Jensen Drive.
After consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, James was formally charged for his role in the stabbing.
