Death Investigation Underway After Incident Involving Massive Alligator in Pinellas County
RIDGECREST, Fla. — Authorities are conducting a death investigation following an incident involving a large alligator near 134th Avenue North and 121st Street in Pinellas County, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 1:50 p.m. after receiving reports of a deceased individual in the area. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed its officers are assisting the sheriff’s office in the ongoing investigation.
While details about the death remain undisclosed, officials confirmed the alligator present in the vicinity was involved in the incident. Investigators were observed recovering what seemed to be a body from a man-made drainage ditch located along 134th Avenue North, just off Ulmerton Road.
