Constable Deputies Collaborate with Pasadena Police to Dismantle Auto Theft Ring
PASADENA, TX, September 7 – An intricate operation has led to the apprehension of individuals involved in an auto theft ring, marking a substantial victory in the ongoing battle against organized crime in the region.
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, the Special Operations Unit led by Constable Jerry Garcia pursued leads regarding a possible auto theft ring operating in the Pasadena vicinity, leading them to a location on the 300 block of Calvin St. The effort was a collaborative mission with the Pasadena Police Department’s Auto Theft and Hot Spot Units, who were requested to assist in the investigation.
During the active investigation, officers observed several suspects allegedly transferring parts from stolen vehicles parked at the specified location. This led to a decisive intervention by the deputies and the Pasadena police.
The meticulous operation allowed the officers to identify three stolen vehicles present at the site. Moreover, two suspects found at the location were taken into custody, facing multiple felony charges.
Jonathan Mendez, 21, has been arrested and is facing charges of felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Alongside him, 24-year-old Jazon Elizondo was arrested, facing charges of felony theft. Both suspects were taken into custody without any incidents.
