Fatal High-Speed Accident Takes Two Young Lives
NORTH LOOP 336, CONROE, TEXAS, Sept. 11, 2023 – A high-speed accident has resulted in the tragic deaths of two young individuals.
On the early hours of Sunday at around 12:45 a.m., Conroe Fire Department was alerted to a major accident on North Loop 336 near Airport Road. A Camaro, moving east on Loop 336 at a substantial speed, encountered a vehicle halted at a red light at the intersection with Airport Road.
To prevent a collision, the Camaro’s driver swerved into the left turn lane but overcorrected, losing control of the vehicle. This led to the car veering into a ditch and initiating a series of flips. During this chaos, it hit the driveway/culvert at the John Deere dealership, resulting in the ejection of both the driver and the passenger. The vehicle carried on for approximately another 100 yards before catching fire and becoming engulfed in flames.
The driver, 19-year-old Edgar Jose Garcia, was pronounced dead at the accident site. Meanwhile, the passenger, 17-year-old Edwin Javier Garcia, was rushed to HCA Conroe Hospital, where he later died on Saturday afternoon.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to piece together the details of this tragic incident. The community mourns the loss of these young lives, and heartfelt condolences are extended to the family and friends of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time.
