Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting of 18-Year-Old Woman on Hays Street

HOUSTON, Texas, Sept. 6, 2023 – The Houston Police Department is currently investigating the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old woman that occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, at 1406 Hays Street.

Upon responding to a shooting report in a parking lot at the mentioned address, HPD patrol officers discovered the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound. The Houston Fire Department paramedics then transported her to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The identity of the deceased is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Detectives reported that at least one other individual was present at the time of the shooting. No charges have been filed at this moment, and the investigation is ongoing.
