Teenager Faces Capital Murder Charges in Fatal Shooting of Man on North Post Oak Lane
HOUSTON, TEXAS, AUGUST 29, 2023 – A male juvenile, who was 16 years old at the time of the incident, has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at an apartment complex in Houston. The suspect has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a capital murder charge. As he is a minor, his booking photos are not releasable.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Moses Gama. Houston Police Department Homicide Division detectives reported that they responded to a shooting at 99 North Post Oak Lane at approximately 3:35 p.m. on May 21. On arrival, officers found Gama in the apartment complex parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was subsequently transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Initial investigations had indicated that the shooting occurred during an attempted robbery. Further investigation led to the identification of the juvenile male as the suspect, and a capital murder warrant was issued. On Monday, August 28, the suspect turned himself into the authorities and was booked into the Harris County Juvenile Justice Center. The case remains under investigation.
