Pursuit Ends with Arrest of Wanted Suspect Shakayla Gailes in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX, August 14, 2023 – Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office arrested a wanted suspect following a brief pursuit that began at a Walmart in the 24800 block of Aldine Westfield Road. The suspect, identified as Shakayla Gailes, was reported to have concealed merchandise and fled the scene in a vehicle without paying.

Upon observing the suspect vehicle, Constable Deputies initiated a traffic stop. Gailes refused to stop, leading deputies on a brief chase before they were able to halt the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Gailes was out on bond for Theft and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

“Shakayla Gailes was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Fleeing Police Officer. Her bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 11,” said Constable Mark Herman.
