Houston Police Investigate Shooting of Two Women and Apparent Self-Inflicted Fatal Shooting of Man
HOUSTON, TX — Houston police are investigating a complex incident involving the shooting of two women and the apparent self-inflicted fatal shooting of a man. The incident occurred at 13403 Preston Cliff Court at about 5:35 a.m. on Friday, August 4.
The deceased male has been identified as Ronnie B. Richardson, 59.
HPD patrol officers responded to a call of a shooting in progress at the aforementioned address. Upon arrival, they encountered a juvenile female outside the residence, who informed them of the ongoing situation inside the house.
Officers entered the home and proceeded to an upstairs bedroom where they heard a disturbance. The door to the room was partially blocked, but officers announced their presence and subsequently heard a single gunshot from inside the room. Upon entering, they found Richardson unresponsive in a chair with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Also inside the room were two female victims, ages 49 and 28, who had sustained gunshot wounds. Officers provided first aid, and the women were transported to a local hospital in stable condition. They are expected to survive their injuries.
The investigation by HPD’s Special Investigations Unit is ongoing, and further details about the motive and circumstances of the incident have not yet been released. Authorities are working to understand the events leading up to the tragic incident, which has left one man dead and two women injured.
