Houston Police Investigate Fatal Crash at 4700 South Loop West; Speeding May Have Been a Factor
HOUSTON, TX — A fatal crash that occurred at 4700 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610) service road is under investigation by the Houston Police Department (HPD). The incident took place around 4 p.m. last Friday, August 4.
The deceased has been identified as Thryllel Evans, 26.
According to HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division, Evans was driving a gold Toyota Camry at a high rate of speed on the service road near the aforementioned address when he lost control of the vehicle. He then drove up the freeway embankment, causing the Camry to roll over onto the main lanes of the service road, where it collided with a silver Chevrolet Impala.
Tragically, Evans was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Houston Fire Department paramedics. An adult female passenger in the Camry sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The 24-year-old driver of the Impala was not injured in the collision.
The investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing. It highlights the dangers of excessive speeding and the potential catastrophic consequences it can have on road safety.
