Update on Oak Grove Fire in Hays County: 400 Acres Burned, 30% Contained, Buildings Destroyed
HAYS COUNTY, TX, August 6, 2023 – The #OakGroveFire in Hays County continues to spread, with officials estimating that 400 acres have now been affected. As of the latest update, the fire is 30% contained.
Crews are actively working both flanks of the fire and have been supported by aircraft this morning. Despite these efforts, officials from the Hays County Fire Marshal’s Office, Hays County Office of Emergency Management, and Texas A&M Forest Service have confirmed that one residence and several outbuildings were destroyed by the fire.
