Officer-Involved Shooting Leaves Burglary Suspect Dead in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – August 4, 2023 – Houston Police Department (HPD) commanders and Public Information Officers are currently en route to the scene of an officer-involved shooting that took place in the 2900 block of Woodland Grove Drive at around 5:20 p.m. today.

Preliminary information reveals that an officer discharged their weapon during an altercation with an armed burglary suspect. The suspect is reported deceased at the scene. The officer involved in the shooting is not injured.

At this time, the identity of the deceased suspect has not been released. An investigation is now underway to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the shooting.
