Houston Woman Charged in Domestic Dispute Shooting
HOUSTON, TEXAS – A woman has been arrested and charged in the shooting of a man following a domestic dispute that took place at 4002 Corder Street around 11:55 a.m. on Thursday, August 3.
The suspect, Tomecia Lashelle Bell, 33, faces charges of aggravated assault of a family member in the 208th State District Court. A booking photo of Bell has been made public with this news release.
The male victim, 29, was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition.
According to HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective A. Wright, HPD patrol officers responded to the shooting at the mentioned address. Upon arrival, they found a male who had been shot. The victim was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital, while Bell was detained at the scene.
Bell told officers that she and the male victim got into a domestic dispute. At some point during the altercation, Bell claimed she grabbed a gun, which then accidentally discharged, striking the male.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted following the incident, and Bell was subsequently charged for her role in the shooting.
