Two Suspects Detained After Evading Police Near Construction Site in Montgomery

August 1, 2023, Montgomery, Texas – At around 4 am, Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Hidden Peak Drive and N Cascade Heights Drive. Reports mentioned a green Toyota 4Runner circulating an active construction site, an unusual sight at that early hour.

Deputies arrived on the scene and spotted a vehicle matching the description leaving the area. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, it evaded them, driving at a high speed through the neighborhood. The chase ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into a tree. Two individuals exited the car and fled into a nearby wooded area, evading immediate capture.

Later in the day, at approximately 8:30 am, a local resident spotted two males matching the suspects’ description walking in the area. Deputies responded promptly and detained the two individuals who were identified as 19-year-old Diego Lara and 17-year-old Christian Valadez, both from Houston. Both suspects had active felony warrants in Harris County.

Following their investigation, the suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Jail and charged with Evading, on top of their outstanding warrants.
