Suspect Arrested in Connection with Drive-By Shooting in Katy

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has made an arrest in connection with a fatal drive-by shooting that occurred in Katy. Giovanni Medrano, 19, has been charged with murder in the shooting death of Kimberly Lewis.

The arrest was made by members of the Violent Persons Task Force team. Medrano is now in custody and is being held at the Harris County Jail. The announcement was made by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez via a social media post.

The shooting incident took place in the 3000 block of Winchester Ranch Trail in Katy back in April. Lewis was confirmed deceased at the scene. The HCSO responded swiftly to the incident, with investigators, commanders, and a Public Information Officer dispatched to the scene.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with investigators actively seeking additional information. The arrest of Medrano marks a significant development in the case, but it is clear that the HCSO is continuing to pursue all leads to ensure justice is served.
