Police shoot a man armed with a knife near River Oaks at a luxury high rise in Houston
Houston Police shot a man that was armed with a knife early Tuesday morning after he ran over a construction worker, killing him and stabbing another citizen.
According to police, the suspect carjacked a construction worker that was providing security at a construction site at the Hanover Autry Park luxury apartments in Houston (811 Buffalo Park Dr.) While the construction worker was leaving, the suspect intentionally ran over him and killed him while crashing into the building lobby.
The concierge then barricaded themselves in a secondary office at which point the suspect tried to ram the second office with the construction worker’s truck. As he was doing that, a citizen came into the office and the suspect ended up stabbing him in the back.
When police arrived, they identified the suspect and gave verbal commands to stop him. The suspect, then turned to the officers and charged them with the knife in hand. Both of the police officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect at least twice. The suspect was then arrested, and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The stabbing victim is expected to survive as well.
