You Decide: Houston Lyft Driver Gone Wild or is Karen making a big deal out of nothing?
We recently had a reader send us this photo with their story. This person wants to be kept anonymous, so we will call them “Karen”.
“A few weeks ago, I believe this was right before Thanksgiving, I was waiting in a shopping center off the Beltway and Wilson Road when I saw this Lyft driver get out of the red Chevy Sonic and walk inside a store.
To be fair, he did not appear to be on a ride, or online but can we see what is wrong with this picture? If you are riding around with the Lyft sticker on your vehicle – you are representing Lyft whether or not you are online. Lyft and Uber are supposed to be professional. This driver should not be driving riders dressed like that. It makes me want to vomit.“
Sincerely,
Karen

As a Lyft driver I always dress business casual but I worked in Corporate America for 25 years. If Lyft wants drivers to dress a certain way, they should provide a dress code and a uniform. We are all independent contractors so to each his own. I mind the business that pays me.
