Fact Check: Did an Elementary School really think it is okay to take their students to a bar?

School Board Member Sarah Leonardi posted a tweet saying she was “SO honored to be invited to chaperone” students on a field trip to Rosie’s Bar and Grill (2449 Wilton Dr, Wilton Manors, FL 33305)

Now, it should be noted that Rosie’s is a staple of Wilton Manor’s FL and students have been going on this field trip for “years”. They learn about what it takes. to run a bar from the general manager, down to the servers and cooks. This is a business lesson, and many of us have gone on a field trip at one point to a local business. In Florida, this just happens to be a bar.

So why are people upset?

It’s simple. This finally made it to Twitter for the outside world to see and just happens to be a “gay bar”, and the rest of Florida are anti-gay, anti-fun Republicans (or should we say RepubliCANT’S?).

Should we be upset? No. As you can see in the photos, there is not a lack of students. The parents support this field trip 100%. If they didn’t, why would they sign the permission slip?
