⚠️ DRIVER ALERT – 09/30/2021
Update: He was last seen driving a Volkswagen:
if you are ordering an Uber or Lyft in the Houston area, please DO NOT get into the vehicle if you see this driver and immediately report him to Uber/Lyft:
The reason being is that he was admitted to being deactivated by Lyft, and now drives under his “boys” account.
Contrary to what any driver who has been deactivated claims, it is actually quite hard to be deactivated by either Uber or Lyft. Basically, you need to be accused of doing something pretty major that typically involves law enforcement. Being deactivated by either app is a MAJOR red flag.
If you recall, he also posted a video of him brake checking to wake a rider up.
Yes, it would be easy enough to send his name to Lyft and Uber, but remember he was deactivated and is using another driver’s account. We do not know this driver’s name.
For all my fellow drivers and riders reading this: If you see him driving around town, please capture the license plate of the car and report to Uber and Lyft. You can even contact us and we will keep your information private and anonymous and we will take steps to report him.
For those thinking Leon is just trolling, (I hope he is) but drivers driving under families and/or friends account does happen. I personally experienced this on a ride that I was on.
As always, please verify not just the license plate of the vehicle you are getting into, but the picture of the driver should match. Uber does require us to take selfies from time to time (wouldn’t be hard for Leon to have his friend take a selfie), but Lyft is a little behind on that front and I do hope they require us to take selfies soon like Uber. Yes, it is a bit annoying, but drivers like Leon are the reason why. Safety should be #1.
