Fact Check: The FDA did NOT give approval to the COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccine

Today, a FDA panel recommended approval of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use.

This panel, led by some of the top scientists in the country, does not mean the vaccine has been approved.

However, the FDA panel is a crucial step for the vaccine getting approval in the United States, without this panel signing off, the vaccine won’t be approved.
